Canadian Parliamentary Historical Resources

The Library of Parliament, in collaboration with the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, is pleased to provide access to Canadian Parliamentary Historical Resources, a free searchable database of digitised versions of the debates , journals, and committee documentation of the Senate and the House of Commons.

This database can be used to search all publications in an integrated search or separately.

The Canadian Parliamentary Historical Resources portal includes all debates, journals and committee documentation of the Senate and the House of Commons from the 1st Session of the 1st Parliament (1867) until coverage at www.parl.ca begins.* Historical sessional papers are also available from 1867 to 1901.

*Debates and Journals for the Senate of Canada are available from the parliamentary website as of February 27, 1996. Debates and Journals for the House of Commons are available from the parliamentary website as of January 17, 1994. Dates for committee documentation for both the Senate and House of Commons vary.
