Jatinder Sidhu MP is a Canadian politician, who was elected to represent the riding of Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 Canadian federal election.[2]

Previously an entrepreneur, Sidhu entered politics after many years of community activism and volunteer service.[3]

Controversy[edit]

In February 2019 Sidhu made what were considered inappropriate comments about Jody Wilson-Raybould during the SNC-Lavalin affair stating "The way she’s acting, I think she couldn’t handle the stress", she was not a "team player", that her discomfort was caused by “a lack of experience,” and "I think there’s somebody else behind — maybe her father — pulling the strings." [4][5]

Sidhu made a formal apology in the House of Commons on February 28, 2019.[6]
