Jennifer O'Connell, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance (Youth Economic Opportunity)

As a former three-term City and Regional Councillor in the City of Pickering, Jennifer O'Connell has played an active role on several boards and committees. In addition, she has held the positions of Deputy Mayor for Pickering and member of the Durham Region Finance and Administration Committee. She previously spent four years as the Chair of the Waterfront Committee and Vice-Chair of the Sustainable Pickering Advisory Committee.

Ms. O'Connell graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor degree specializing in Political Science. Through her work as a junior legal assistant and volunteering at a successful labour law firm, she found her passion for giving a voice to those in need. She learned early on how to channel her passion into real and tangible results, and was soon the youngest elected politician in her municipal ward.

Ms. O'Connell takes into consideration not only her own concerns and objectives, but also those of everyone interested, working together toward improving our communities one step at a time.

Ms. O'Connell is currently Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance (Youth Economic Opportunity).
