The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is the Canadian representative for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). As the Canadian ISO and IEC representative, SCC protects the integrity and prevents the unauthorized reproduction of ISO and IEC standards in Canada.
Obtaining a Licence
SCC grants copyright licences to Canadians for the reproduction of ISO and IEC standards, in whole or in part, in the following cases:
- In electronic format for distribution on an internal network;
- In hardcopy or electronic format for other internal use (e.g., distribution at a meeting, incorporation in internal documentation, etc.);
- In hardcopy or electronic format for commercial purposes (e.g., in publications or products, including software applications, intended for sale).
Applicable copyright fees are determined based on the specific circumstances of each request.
