How To Get The Most Out Of CBC Kids Days In Toronto: Directions, FAQs and Tips

Are you coming to CBC Kids Days in Toronto on July 17 & 18? Make your days a little easier by reading this first.

1. How do we get to CBC Kids Days by public transit?

Take TTC or GO Transit to Union Station and walk west on Front St. A CBC entrance is located at 250 Front Street West.

Take TTC to St. Andrew Station and walk west on King Street until John Street, then turn left and continue south. CBC entrances are located at 25 John Street or 205 Wellington Street West.

From St. Andrew Station, you can also take the 504 streetcar west to John Street and then walk south.

2. If we’re driving, where can we park and how much does it cost?

There are many parking lots around CBC. This map shows a number of them.

The Metro Hall parking lot is across the street from the CBC Building. The address is 200 Wellington St. W. Parking is approximately $8 for one hour or $17 for the day.

You can also find inexpensive outdoor parking lots along Front Street west of the CBC, between John Street and Spadina Avenue. Their rates change daily.

3. Is there food available at CBC Kids Days? Can we bring our own food?

You are welcome to bring your own food.

There are also many food options available in and around CBC. The CBC atrium offers one restaurant (ITO Sushi). There is a large food court accessible from within the CBC lobby at the base of the escalators. You can find the food court directory here.

You can also check out the food trucks, hot dog carts and and ice cream trucks that regularly park near the CBC building on Front Street.

4. When are the shows and how early should we get there to get a good spot?

There are five stage shows daily. Try to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before show time to get a good spot. The shows are a great chance for your kids to see their favourite characters.

We encourage you to use our convenient stroller parking located in the Kid Care Centre. 

This year, for the first time, we'll be holding an indoor parade that goes through the Barbara Frum Atrium as the grande finale of the event on both days. The Parade begins at 2:30 p.m. each day. Please see the parade route map on the mainstage screen.

5. The pictures of CBC Kids Days look packed! Is it going to be really busy?

CBC Kids Days is a very popular event, but it's an event that you don’t want to miss!

Plan your day wisely. The least busy time tends to be the morning on the first day (July 17). To make it easier to navigate the event, we offer stroller parking at the Kid Care Centre.

You can use the Kid Care Centre for all your parenting needs. Feeding, diaper changing and bottle warming are at your disposal. And if you’re feeling hot outside, you can come inside to cool down (or dry off). There are lots of activities both inside and outside.

Meet & Greet lines can be long, but most of the mascot characters will also walk around during the day and at the end of the event. If a Meet & Greet line closes, you may still get a chance to meet your favourite character.

6. Is there somewhere to change my baby? Somewhere to nurse or feed my infant? Somewhere to have a little quiet time?

We offer a feeding and changing station at the Kid Care Centre located inside the Conference Centre, which can be accessed at the top of the ramp in the CBC atrium.

There is also a feeding and changing station under the escalators in Mansbridge Hall.

If you're looking for a different sensory experience, we welcome you to visit Pablo's World! Inside, you can enjoy fun activities, watch videos, or just relax. 

7. Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The event is both indoors and outdoors (bring sunscreen!).

8. What happens if it rains?

If it rains, the weather-dependent outdoor activities will be closed or moved to an indoor location.

9. What kinds of things are there to do?

CBC Kids Days offer lots of activities! We'll have activities that allow kids to be creative, active and curious. We'll have interactive and virtual reality activities. In addition to the stage shows, kids can experience arts and crafts, interactive activities, outdoor games, picture taking, mascot Meet & Greets and so much more. 

10. What ages will get the most out of CBC Kids Days?

CBC Kids Days is ideal for kids ages 2-6 and their families.

11. Can I bring older kids? What activites do you have for kids ages 6+?

This year, we're offering a number activities that older kids might also enjoy.
