Stella and Sam

With wild red hair and an imagination to match, nine-year-old Stella is truly a ‘star’ in the eyes of her four-year-old brother Sam. He feels lucky to have a big sister like Stella, who does 99 things a day and wouldn’t dream of leaving Sam out of the fun! Besides, Stella knows everything, which is helpful when you’re a little guy who’s eager to explore the world... as long as someone else goes first!

Stella is more than happy to be Sam’s guide to the wild spaces beyond their back porch. For her, the Great Outdoors is more than just a place — it’s a playmate! And every expedition brings new wonders. Sam learns that (with a little imagination) a chair can be a spaceship, there are dragons in the meadow and trees make great pirate ships. With Stella in charge, there’s adventure at every turn! A hot summer’s day can turn into a polar expedition to the top of the world. Their adventures fill Sam with questions, and Stella has an endless supply of answers — as long as you’re not too fussy about the facts.

As they explore the world in all its seasons, Stella and Sam have wild adventures and comical mishaps. They make friends and discover many things — especially about themselves. If Sam is bold enough to rescue Fred from the sprinkler, then maybe he really can be brave enough to have a sleepover in the backyard tent. Every day is a new adventure, and Stella and Sam share the joy of discovering that they have what it takes to face the biggest adventure of all... growing up.

Based on the best-selling book series by world-renowned Canadian author and illustrator Marie-Louise Gay, "Stella and Sam" captures the joy and wonder of childhood.
