Corrections Research
Public Safety Canada employs some of the world's foremost experts in corrections research. We conduct research in support of policy development in priority areas and on many topics, including:
- High-risk/violent offenders
- Sexual offenders
- Community corrections
- Offender treatment and rehabilitation
- Restorative justice
- Aboriginal corrections
The research helps in the development of effective strategies for dealing with high-risk violent offenders while providing appropriate alternatives to incarceration for low-risk offenders.
