Safety

CER InspectorWe do everything in our power to keep people safe. We are always learning new things and making changes when needed. We expect the companies under our watch to do the same.

We require companies to make safety a part of their day-to-day business and culture. This means training each employee to always think about safety first. This, in turn, will change how they work for the better.

Companies must have plans that outline how they will work safely. These plans not only describe how people will be kept safe every day. They also explain the specific steps they will take to prevent rare, but dangerous incident from happening.

Once they have plans in place, we get out in the field to make sure they are doing what they said they would. This helps us find and correct potential issues before they turn into problems.

We never stop providing safety oversight. Companies have to answer to us for how they make sure people and the environment stay protected. This starts even before we allow work to begin. We are on the ground while new projects are being built and while they are being operated. Even when pipelines or powerlines stop being used, we still keep watch to make sure things are safe.
