Sudbury to spend extra $811,000 to expand asphalt recycling pilot project
Greater Sudbury recently approved an extra $811,000 to test recycling asphalt on 30 kilometres of city roads. Cost of pilot project increases to $1.5 million.

5 cases of whooping cough being investigated in Kirkland Lake area
The Timiskaming Health Unit has declared a district-wide whooping cough outbreak because of recent cases in the Kirkland Lake area and confirmed or probable cases in Temiskaming Shores.

$30,000 from city will help Sudbury group address funding cuts, influx of newcomers
Greater Sudbury wants to attract more immigrants, newcomers and international students to the city. It's providing $30,000 to the Sudbury Multicultural and Folk Arts Association which works to get these new residents settled in the community.

New approach to treating addiction meets community needs, says executive director of Nipissing Mental Health
The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions is warning that the closure of a residential addiction and detox program at the North Bay Regional Health Centre will result in more fatalities and many more overdoses. The executive director of Nipissing Mental Health Housing & Support Services says the re-allocation of resources is what the community needs.
