Fraudulent calls from the Department of Justice Canada

The Department of Justice is aware of technical problems with our public enquiries telephone number, as well as of fraudulent, “spoof” calls originating from the number. The Department of Justice did not place these calls.

We are working to resolve the technical issues, but if you’ve received a suspicious phone call and wish to report it, please contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, the agency responsible for dealing with fraudulent calls of this nature.
