Our mandate is to invest $35 billion of federal funding in revenue-generating infrastructure projects that are in the public interest and that attract private capital.

The CIB is a catalyst for private investment in projects that support economic growth for the benefit of Canadians.

We are working on projects, from coast to coast to coast, that reflect our core sectors for investment – green infrastructure, clean power, public transit, trade and transportation and enhanced broadband infrastructure.

We develop projects in partnership with federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and Indigenous government sponsors and the private sector.

CIB’s investments align with the Government of Canada’s economic priorities. CIB also has a mandate to provide advisory services to project sponsors from the early stages of project development in order to maximize its potential.

Our team, which combines unique expertise in the field of infrastructure investment, is led by a pan-Canadian Board of Directors that approves investment decisions.

CIB’s approach to investments will create new infrastructure that will benefit Canadians for decades to come.
