    The resignation of is a major loss. We worked together on many key files including First Nations child welfare, improving drinking water & improving the quality of life for First Nations. She acts with integrity, honesty and commitment in all her efforts.

    It grieves me to resign from a portfolio where I was at work to deliver an important mandate. I must abide by my core values, my ethical responsibilities, constitutional obligations. There can be a cost to acting on one’s principles, but there is a bigger cost to abandoning them.

    Tobacco down for a great water warrior, Josephine Mandamin, who started her Mother Earth Water Walks in 2003. Very sad to learn she has gone on her final journey. It’s estimated she took over 6 million footsteps in fighting for her people and their water.
