We are a federal institution that is part of the Employment and Social Development Canada portfolio. We operate at arm’s length from the Government of Canada.
The Social Security Tribunal of Canada (Tribunal) is an independent administrative tribunal that makes quasi-judicial decisions on appeals related to the Employment Insurance Act, the Canada Pension Plan, and the Old Age Security Act.
The Tribunal receives support services and facilities from the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada.
