2/3 Outbreaks represent closed settings where #publichealth measures can be targeted to #StoptheSpread, however community transmission presents additional challenges for #TestandTrace to control spread at the population level.

1/3 #COVID19 key concerns in : nationally epidemic growth continues to slow but outbreaks remain in long term care, shelters, workplaces, etc. Most worrying is community spread in & around hotspots, e.g. greater Toronto & Montreal areas.

As we target #COVID19 testing where the virus is spreading, a low % positive (keeping <10%) indicates our surveillance remains sensitive. The net is cast wide, confirming the few infected (+ve) & many uninfected (-ve) as we #TestandTrace.

To date, labs across have tested 1,500,481 people for #COVID19, w\ an average ~5% positive overall. Based on the last seven days, an average of 22, 360 people have been tested daily (w\ ~4% +ve) as #publichealth continues to #TestandTrace.

2/4 Whether #COVID19, the #opioids crisis or everyday emergencies, #Paramedics are instrumental in providing expert care & human connection, while also forging partnerships that promote patient care & improve health in our communities.

3/3 Recent ↑ in case counts in Ontario caution us that #COVID19 control is only as good as the public’s observance of control measures. Relax too much & #COVID19 can and will rebound. #Physicaldistancing is a must even when outside.

2/3 With the weather warming and more areas of the country reopening, the trajectory of #COVID19 depends more than ever on Canadians maintaining vigilance with #publichealth measures. Best case scenarios require best efforts.
