Ontario Health orders 300K face shields from Kitchener company InkSmith
The Kitchener tech company InkSmith has increased its staffing by more than eightfold and has employees working nearly round the clock to fulfill “hundreds of thousands” orders that are quickly coming in for its laser-cut face shields.

1 business charged, 2 warned for remaining open, region says
One Waterloo region business has been charged after allegedly remaining open when deemed non-essential by the province. Two others have been given formal warnings, the region's chief administrative officer says.

There are now 185 confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Waterloo region, public health says. As well, the region has opened two assessment clinics for patients who need to see a doctor for coronavirus but do not need to go to the hospital.

Extra ventilators arrive in Ontario hospital ICUs to aid COVID-19 patients
Ontario hospital intensive care units now have nearly 2,000 beds equipped with ventilators to help care for COVID-19 patients, an increase of nearly 50 per cent from March, according to data obtained by CBC News.
