The global COVID-19 pandemic struck the U.S. state of Wisconsin in early February 2020.[1] Since then the number of cases and deaths has ebbed and flowed. COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin is the main article on the pandemic in the state. This article gives graphs showing trends, including breakdowns by county.

Trends for whole state of Wisconsin[edit]

The state-level graphs above are based on data from Wisconsin DHS, as of 2021/05/04. [2]

Turning points at the state level in the course of the pandemic:

  • Late August: Most schools resume.
  • Early November: New cases peaked at over 6,000 reported per day, with some hospital intensive care units reaching capacity. Governor Evers made a fresh plea for people to stay home as much as possible to slow the spread.[3]
  • Dec 15: First vaccinations.[4]
  • Jan 12, 2021: B1.1.7 variant (first found in Britain) appeared in Wisconsin.[5]
  • Mar 4, 2021: B1.351 variant (first found in South Africa) appeared in Wisconsin.[5]
