The Property Management Division (PMD) plans, constructs, operates and maintains the government's facilities. Our services include: facilities planning, design, construction and leasing services to help clients acquire appropriate and affordable buildings. We operate and maintain over 480 government-owned buildings worth over $1 billion dollars. We provides oversight to around 52 leased buildings. PMD also provides building and grounds maintenance, cleaning and security services. Our goal is to ensure the ongoing safety and comfort of government buildings.

Our branch is responsible for: transportation planning; developing the capital budget, related to planning; monitoring the condition of transportation infrastructure for planning and management purposes; maintaining information on land and granular resources associated with highway infrastructure for planning, operational and management purposes; road infrastructure safety analysis; design, tendering and construction supervision related to the government’s highway construction program; providing technical support to Transportation Maintenance and Aviation branches.

The Transportation Maintenance branch supports Yukon’s multi-modal transportation system. We do this by maintaining roads to a level that ensures safe and efficient use. We manage rights-of-way and other lands and assets required for transportation purposes. We also maintain 4,821 kilometres of Yukon roads. 350 kms of roads are paved, 1,976 kms are covered with Bituminous Surface Treatment (BST) and 2,487 kms are gravel.
