The Battle of Shostka was a military engagement in the city of Shostka between the Russian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.[2] It began on 24 February 2022 during the ongoing Russian Invasion of Ukraine (2022).[3]
Battle[edit]
On 24 February, Russia launched airstrikes in Shostka.[4] Later that day Russian troops entered Shostka and there was fighting reported in the streets[2] by the residents of Shostka.
On 14 March, Russian missiles bombed enterprises in the city.[3] On 15 March, President Zelenskyy ordered the evacuation[5] of Shostka.
On 19 March, it was reported that fighting intensified.[6] On 20 March, Russian forces reported that Shotska was under their control.[7][8]
