  1. Confirmed team news: Luton v Chelseapublished at 18:29 2 March

Dan Potts comes in as captain of Luton and is joined by Peter Kioso in a back five, while Luke Berry returns in midfield for the Hatters and Admiral Muskwe starts up front.

Luton Town XI: Steer; Kioso, Burke, Lockyer, Potts, Bell; Berry, Osho; Mendes Gomes; Muskwe, Cornick.

Substitutes: Isted, Bree, Naismith, Hylton, Snodgrass, Clark, Campbell, Thorpe, Jerome.

Kepa Arrizabalaga starts in goal for Chelsea as the Blues make nine changes to the side that began their Carabao Cup final defeat by Liverpool on Sunday.

Only Antonio Rudiger and Mason Mount keep their place, with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner starting in attack for Thomas Tuchel's visitors.

  2. Lawro's predictions: Luton v Chelseapublished at 15:57 2 March

Mark Lawrenson takes on British rapper Bru-C in the latest round of FA Cup predictions.

    Lawro's prediction: 1-2

Luton have had a brilliant February, winning five out of six games in the Championship, and they are up in the play-off places after beating Derby on Saturday.

When you consider Luton's wage bill and budget compared with some of the other teams in that division, you can see what a brilliant job Nathan Jones is doing there as manager.

I love it when clubs punch above their weight like that, but it is asking an awful lot for Luton to do it again with an upset here.

Chelsea could easily have won the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and I just feel they will be too strong for the Hatters - even if Blues boss Thomas Tuchel rotates his squad.

Chelsea beat Luton at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round last season, on their way to the final. There's a different venue this time, but I'm going for the same outcome.

Bru-C's prediction: 1-1 - Luton to score first in extra time, Chelsea to equalise... and Luton to win on penalties.

There is the chance of an upset here, especially because there are no replays. Chelsea want some silverware after losing the Carabao Cup final, but that doesn't mean they will play well. If Luton can stay in the game, like Plymouth did against Chelsea in the last round, then they've got a real chance.

  3. Luton Town v Chelsea: Team newspublished at 14:14 2 March

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said he is struggling with his squad for the FA Cup fifth-round tie against Luton after losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool on penalties on Sunday.

Midfielder Hakim Ziyech is already ruled out of the game at Kenilworth Road and defender Reece James is also unlikely to feature because of his involvement at Wembley.

Tuchel added his preparation for Wednesday's game changed "dramatically" after their EFL Cup defeat.

"We have a lot of players with physical overloads and we have some injuries from the match," he said.

  4. Chelsea's cup consistencypublished at 12:32 2 March

Since overcoming Norwich on penalties in round three in 2017-18, Chelsea have won 19 of their 22 FA Cup games (L3), more than any other side

I’m trying to work out if I can write about the final without mentioning Kepa – but there was much more to it than the final few seconds and the goalkeeper disaster.

The first thing to say is that it was the best 0-0 draw I’ve ever seen. We had 120 minutes of incredible football, without goals, then 21 goals in the space of about five minutes. It was nuts.

The second thing is just how rubbish VAR has made these occasions. Every celebration was provisional. I turned to my daughter (she’s 17 and has been coming to Chelsea with me since she was five) to hug and celebrate three times, but we just had this inkling each goal would be overruled. And they were. We never really celebrate anything any more. VAR has killed the moment.

Anyone who says the rules are the rules doesn’t understand football. It’s not a science, it’s an art. Offside is an art. You should be able to ride a motorcycle with a sidecar between the two front players before it’s offside. It can't be a tuft of hair on an elbow that decides a goal is ruled out. It’s nonsense.

The last thing is quite moving and is to do with Ukraine. Before the game, they showed flags of Ukraine on the screens and the announcer invited us to show our support. The crowd all clapped. Then the Liverpool fans started singing You’ll Never Walk Alone and around me all the Chelsea fans joined in as we knew we were singing for Ukrainians. It was an amazing moment, everyone singing the same song.

I don’t think I’ve ever been at a football game where there has been a moment like that.

  6. Abramovich plan 'coming apart at the seams'published at 09:04 2 March

Roman's Abramovich's announcement about the future of Chelsea is "already coming apart at the seams a little", according to The Athletic football journalist Liam Twomey.

On Saturday, owner Abramovich said he was handing over "the stewardship and care" of the club to the trustees, but Twomey says it is still difficult to unpick what this actually means in practice.

"We're not sure what he meant as stewardship has no meaning in law," he said on 5 Live Breakfast. "It doesn't seem to represent any tangible control at the top of the club.

"It doesn't seem that Abramovich's plans were sufficiently well thought through and it's already coming apart at the seams a little."

Twomey also said he had sympathy with Thomas Tuchel after the Chelsea manager fielded numerous questions on Abramovich's ownership and Russia's invasion of Ukraine during his news conference before tonight's game with Luton.

"In many ways, it was a product of the flawed media system in England," he said. "Tuchel isn't the person to answer these questions but he's the most senior person at the club who is made available to us.

"Coaches here are expected to wade in and talk sensitively and knowledgeably about all manner of issues - which is very different to how it is, for example, in Germany."

  10. 'It’s a bit too much for me to answer' - Tuchel on Abramovichpublished at 14:40 1 March

Thomas Tuchel says his day-to-day work won't be affected by Roman Abramovich's decision to hand over "the stewardship and care" of Chelsea to trustees of the club's charitable foundation.

Speaking before Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Luton Town, Tuchel said: "For me as a coach and in charge of the first team my position does not change too much in the daily business.

"I’m in a daily exchange with Petr Cech and Marina (Granovskaia) about how to improve the first team and this will not stop because they will stay in charge".

Tuchel was also asked if Abramovich's ownership of Chelsea is a problem, to which he replied: "It’s a bit too much for me to answer. I am not aware of the details and I’m not aware of the whole situation.

"We all agree that there are situations much more important than football and this will never change. Situations like war are, of course, so much more important, but the role of Mr Abramovich is not for me to comment on because we don’t know enough about it."

When asked if he had a message for fans over the uncertainty of the club's ownership, Tuchel said: "I’m not sure if I am the person to give messages to the fans. We try to be calm here and we are calm in the centre of a storm and noise around us that we cannot control".
