The Battle of Shostka was a military engagement in the city of Shostka between the Russian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It began on 24 February 2022, soon after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2]
Battle[edit]
On 24 February, Russian troops entered Shostka and there was fighting reported in the streets by the residents of Shostka.
On 14 March, Russian launched airstrikes on enterprises in Shostka.[3] The following day, President Zelenskyy ordered the evacuation of Shostka.[4][5]
As of 18 March, Russian forces were in control of Shotska following the Ukrainian military's retreat from the city.[1]
