Original research

There is an awful lot of what looks to be 'original research' in here. Many statements seem to be unsubstiantated and overgeneralized. There also seems to be a lot of emphasis on the notion of what a treaty is regarded as since the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties went into effect in 1980. When I have a chance in the future, I will try to outline some of these issues and bring them up here before making changes to the article. Signatory vs. Party to a treaty

What are the similarities and differences between the parties to a treat and the signatories to the treaty?CountMacula (talk) 04:31, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of 'Historical cases where treaties were terminated and response'

The material in Historical cases where treaties were terminated and response is about topics of primarily religious nature and significance, not relevant for the discussion of international treaties, so I propose to delete this section. ZBukov (talk) 12:01, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Agreed. The "treaties" described in that section are not treaties in the sense used in most of the article; the parties were not "sovereign states [or] international organizations." Chuck (talk) 13:29, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
