Hi! I'd like to use AWB to more efficiently work through backlogs of unsupported parameters in templates and overpopulated categories. Thanks :) Pedantical (talk) 19:32, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, I'm working to correct Māori words that are misspelled, specifically where they are missing macrons. I've developed a tool to identify these and would like to move to AWB for doing the edits. Cheers, nzdjb (talk) 20:25, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To add a bit more context to this, in recent years, there has been increasing acceptance in Aotearoa, New Zealand of using Māori names various terms. In particular, native fauna and flora now largely have Māori names officially preferred.
With this, there's been significant recognition that many of these names have been incorrectly spelled in media for a long time, by missing macrons. In some cases, this can completely change the meaning.
Wikipedia has not been immune to this and there are many of these errors. I've created a tool (https://github.com/nzdjb/diacritical) that finds instances of words that are commonly missing macrons (e.g. kereru instead of kererū).
I'd like to adapt my tool to output configuration files for AWB and ideally offer options of changing the spelling or adding appropriate templates to mark the instance as "as written", etc.
This will significantly increase the speed with which I can resolve these issues.
If AWB is not the correct tool for this kind of work, that's fine, I can develop the functionality I want, but I'd like to avoid reinventing the wheel. :-) nzdjb (talk) 04:46, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, I would like to request AWB rights in order to efficiently make repetitive minor edits, such as typo fixes. If I am approved, I would also like AWB rights added to my alt account Evaxooooof25Mobile. Evaxooooof25 (talk) 04:01, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would like to use the tool to help automate repetitive edits please. Thirdman (talk) 00:46, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I frequently close requested moves, and sometimes there is a need to update a large number of links in conjunction with a move (if the original title doesn't remain a redirect to the moved article). AWB would be very useful for this. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 16:14, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Reason for requesting autowikibrowser rights: I tend to make gnome-like edits and would like to see how AWB works and if it'll help me improve Wikipedia. SilverTiger12 (talk) 17:22, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
