Quebec Family History Society

The Quebec Family History Society is the largest English-language genealogical society in the province of Quebec, Canada. We are a federally registered charity, financed by memberships and donations.

Our membership year runs from August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023. To renew your membership  for 2023/24, click on the link below.
 
Income from memberships supports the Quebec Family History Society and allows us to maintain our physical location with research facilites and library.  Look for new virtual options for our seminars and special interest groups.

Quebec Land Registers

Our good friends at the Chataugauy Valley Historical Society (CVGS) have crafted a step-by-step presentation on gaining access to the Registre Foncier du Québec.

If you are on a journey to find registered documentation for your ancestral family in Quebec, this is a path you can travel that has already been prepared for you for notaries and lawyers who also need this information.

This presentation guides us through the complicated Registre system and demonstrates how to mine the genealogical nuggets to be found therein.

Ancestry Library Edition includes access to billions of records from more that 80 countries including military, church records, census records, passenger lists, and family trees.
 
The Quebec Family History Society is a designated “Family History Center” of Family Search. Members and visitors have access to the digitized collection of records available only at Family History centers.
 
Genealogie Quebec/Genealogy Quebec contains the largest collection of Quebec historical and genealogical documents online including the Drouin Collection of births, marriages and deaths.
