Softcult is the alternative indie-rock duo of twin siblings Mercedes Arn-Horn (She/Her) (Vocals/Guitar) and Phoenix Arn-Horn (They/Them) (Vocals/Drums) from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Seamlessly combining Grunge, Shoegaze, Dreampop, and Punk into their ‘music with a message’, Softcult has become the band inspiring a new Riot Grrrl movement for the digital age. PRO: feminism, social activism, creative freedom, self-empowerment, gender neutrality. ANTI: sexism, racism, homophobia, trans-phobia, patriarchy.

Softcult are gaining fans by building a safe and inclusive community, and gathering industry supporters with the DIY approach to their music, visuals, art, and most importantly, with their message. This approach includes writing, performing, recording and producing all of their music, directing/editing all of their music videos, designing all artwork and creating a monthly hand-made zine. Since 2021, Softcult have released 3 EPs, which have generated buzz and acclaim in Canada and across the globe. In 2023, sold-out headlining shows in Bangkok, Tokyo, Manila, London UK, NYC, Toronto, plus major tours including direct support for Incubus. Recorded 2 BBC Radio1 Maida Vale live sessions

* Press in 2023 included the cover of Kerrang Magazine, featured as a band to watch by Alternative Press, Stereogum, CBC, Exclaim!, GAY Times.
