The federal public service is one of Canada’s key institutions. It is basic to our health, our environment, our public safety and our economic security. It is focused on the public good and is key to our democracy. To operate in a global
information economy, it must become a
learning organization and
its members must recognize that learning and work are one and the same.
Policies like the Policy on Learning, Training and Development and corporate
Leadership development programs like the
Career Assignment Program (CAP), the
Accelerated Executive Development Program
(AEXDP), the Accelerated Economists Development Program
(AETP), and the Management Trainee Program
(MTP) are all initiatives designed to integrate learning and development into organizational management.
The Leadership Network—the policy centre for learning within the Public Service—has designed this site to:
- Familiarize you with the Policy and related documents
- Make it easy for you to understand your specific responsibilities under the Policy
- Provide information on the learning organization
- Outline other key learning initiatives, programs, and priorities
Visit the required training portals to get important information for required training coordinators, newly appointed employees, supervisors, managers, executives and functional specialists. Verify regularly for other learning-focused news, information, and events.
