Artefact conservation with Ed Bowkett:
Biography:
Ed Bowkett is a graduate of the Art Conservation Techniques Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario. He provides professional services for museums and cultural institutions across Eastern and Central Canada, including The National Museum of Science and Technology, The Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Conservation Institute and the City of Ottawa, as well as a variety of private clients, preserving artifacts and educating the public about conservation. He has owned and operated Bowkett & Co., with his wife Daniela, also a conservator, for the past 15 years. The company focuses on the treatment of three-dimensional objects, architectural, industrial, utilitarian and decorative, in a variety of materials, construction and age.
Ed is an active volunteer in his community, contributing to the Russell Historical. Historical Society and Fair Board and is a member of the restoration crew at The Bytown Railway Society. Ed takes pride in his family and work, and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
