    Many in govt, especially many who work in communications roles, have argued strongly against measures announced today. Worse, they deliberately intensified partisan divisions. I hope they reflect on their past positions and do better going forward. This is serious.

    On November 9, 86 Alberta doctors begged Kenney for a 14-day lockdown + warned of catastrophic consequences without further restrictions. Today, a month later, Kenney announced a 28-day lockdown. 270 Albertans have died since Nov. 9.

    These supports are necessary to ensure business gets through to the other side of this. Despite Alberta's fiscal challenges, we easily have the fiscal capacity for this and more.

    There will be an additional relaunch grant today. Small biz can qualify for an *additional* 15k. If you didn't apply in the spring, you can apply now. Lower qualifying thresholds too. More biz can benefit.

    More places mandated to close: Bingo halls, horse tracks, legions, private clubs, recreation centres, spas, indoor rinks/arenas, libraries, science centres, museums, galleries, massage, tattoos and piercing. Hotels can stay open, but must follow restrictions.

    and effective Dec. 13 12:01 am. Retail stores must limit capacity to 15%. In person attendance of religious services are limited to 15% of fire capacity. All restaurants, bars, cafes must move to take out only.
