Receiving agent:

Receiving agents are Canada Post and Service Canada offices that can accept your passport application. They do not offer the same services as a passport office.

Before you submit your application, find out what they can and can’t do for you.

Delivery by mail:

You must receive your passport in the mail.

If you bring your application:

  • to a receiving agent: it will be processed in 20 business days.
  • to a passport office: it will be processed in 10 business days.

These processing times do not include delivery time.

Standard pick-up:

You must pick-up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready in 10 business days.

There is an extra fee to pick-up in person ($20).

Express pick-up:

You must pick-up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready in 2-9 business days.

There is an extra fee for express pick-up ($50).

Urgent pick-up:

You must pick-up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready by the end of the next business day.

You must provide proof of travel to receive urgent service.

There is an extra fee for urgent pick-up ($110).

Extra service fee:

Canada Post receiving agents accept passport applications for an extra fee ($20 plus tax).
