Careers

The Canadian Dairy Commission's mandate includes the development of dairy policy, the tracking of supply and demand in the dairy sector, facilitating the pooling of milk revenues and developing market sharing systems. Its work force of about 65 employees is made up of policy analysts, agricultural economists, financial, marketing and communications specialists as well as support personnel. The CDC does not recruit farm workers, veterinarians or scientific researchers.

Set in the lush setting of the Central Experimental Farm, close to the Rideau canal, bicycle paths, shopping centres, Little Italy and Chinatown, the Canadian Dairy Commission is housed in a beautiful heritage building. Employees enjoy bright and spacious workstations, a learning centre, an exercise room, showers and inexpensive on-site parking.

In their response to the government survey on employee satisfaction, employees rated the CDC very highly in terms of fairness, training and professional advancement, and autonomy and tools in the workplace. The CDC is proud to offer its employees a welcoming setting and a dynamic work environment where integrity, respect, leadership and professionalism are valued.
