On November 1, 2014, the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board (PSLREB) was created. The PSLREB was created when the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) and the Public Service Staffing Tribunal (PSST) merged. This PSST website is in the process of being phased out in favour of the new PSLREB website. Public Service Employment Act
The new Public Service Employment Act which came into force in December 2005 is designed to modernize staffing in the public service while maintaining the core values of merit, excellence, non-partisanship, representativeness and the ability to serve members of the public with integrity in the official language of their choice. The Act gives new meaning to merit and establishes the mandate and powers of the Public Service Staffing Tribunal.

The Public Service Staffing Tribunal Regulations were registered on December 23, 2005 and published in the Canada Gazette on January 11, 2006.
The Public Service Employment Act empowers the Public Service Staffing Tribunal to make regulations regarding the practices and procedures of the Tribunal, including: the manner in which and the time within which a complaint may be made; the procedure for the hearing of complaints by the Tribunal, the time within which, and the persons to whom, notices and other documents must be given in relation to complaints and when the notices are deemed to have been sent, given or received; the manner of giving notice of an issue to the Canadian Human Rights commission and the disclosure of information obtained in the course of an appointment process or a complaint proceeding.
