Key Tag Service

It works! Nearly 13,000 sets of lost keys are returned every year.

With the high replacement cost of keys and remote devices, this service is more important than ever!

  • Attach a confidentially coded War Amps key tag to your key ring. It is registered only to your name and address.
  • If you lose your keys, the finder can call the toll-free number on the back of the tag or place them in any mailbox in Canada.
  • The War Amps will return your keys to you by courier, free of charge.

Protect the valuables on your key ring with a War Amps key tag and help support programs for amputees.

Thank you for the safe return of my keys! My car fob would have cost $265 to replace, so I am especially happy to have it back. Joffre

Jericho’s Story

Jericho

When Jericho was born, he was missing bones in the lower parts of both legs, and a double amputation was his best option for a full and active life.

The hospital social worker told Jericho’s parents about The War Amps and how we would be able to help. From the day Jericho was enrolled, CHAMP has been there to ease the path with financial support for artificial limbs, peer support and regional seminars.

Today, Jericho has special running legs that help put a little bounce in his step!

Without The War Amps and all of their financial support for Jericho’s artificial limbs, we don’t know where we would be right now. He lives their motto “It’s what’s left that counts” every single day. We would like to thank everyone who donates to The War Amps Key Tag Service because, with your support, we now know that Jericho is going to go further than we could have imagined.Joy, Jericho’s mother

The Legacy Continues

The Legacy Continues

A philosophy of “amputees helping amputees” has been the hallmark of The War Amps since 1918, when the Association was founded by war amputees returning home from the First World War. Our unique history has shaped the innovative programs we offer for amputees and the public, which are still going strong today.

Our role in The National Council of Veteran Associations in Canada (NCVA)

Since 1918, The War Amps has fought to protect the rights of amputee veterans and address the difficulties they face. Today, we continue to use nearly 100 years of expertise to assist modern-day war amputees, as well as traditional amputee veterans, and to champion their rights.

NCVA

For many years, The War Amps has worked in close collaboration with NCVA to ensure the position and concerns of seriously disabled veterans and more particularly veteran amputees are identified and recognized in the NCVA Legislative Agenda for submission to the Government/Veterans Affairs Canada/Department of National Defence.

The Canadian Army Newsreels

Canadian Army Newsreels

Filmed by army cameramen during the Second World War, the Canadian Army Newsreels documented Canadian troops in training, in battle and behind the lines. They also provide a fascinating glimpse of Canadian society in the 1940s and the war effort on the home front.

The War Amps, in cooperation with the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and veterans of the Canadian Army Film Unit, has made the complete set of Canadian Army Newsreels available to the public for the first time on DVD.

Just purchased The Canadian Army Newsreels and my wife and I watched a number of them last night – outstanding and long overdue to be made available to the public. I applaud The War Amps. Well done!Viewer
