Entrances

There are two main entrances to the NAC. The main entrance is located at the corner of Queen and Elgin facing the National War Memorial.

The second entrance faces the Rideau Canal and is accessed from Lawrence Freiman Lane that starts at the corner of Queen and Elgin.

Driving directions

The National Arts Centre is located at 1 Elgin st. The building is near The National War Memorial, Confederation Park, and the CF Rideau Centre mall

Pick-up, drop-off and taxis

Pick-up/Drop-off

Both the Elgin st. and Canal entrances have a lay-by location for easy pick-up and drop-off.

Taxis

If arriving at the NAC by taxi, you can use the lay-by on Elgin Street or the Canal lobby entrance on Freiman Lane (the road running behind the NAC).

Public Transit

The NAC is only a 5 to 10-minute walk from major bus interchanges, including the Mackenzie King and Rideau Street stations. For bus schedules and maps please refer to your bus website.

Para Transpo

Para Transpo is a shared-ride, book-in-advance, public transit service. The service is open to eligible customers who are unable to take conventional transit (buses and O-Train) some or all of the time due to a disability. It is funded by the City of Ottawa and administered by OC Transpo.

Para Transpo provides minibus and contracted taxi services in Ottawa’s urban communities. We also provide service between urban and rural areas and to Hull (in Gatineau).
