Findings under the Privacy Act

In this section, you will find the Privacy Commissioner's findings on complaints made under the Privacy Act, the law that covers the federal public sector.

This section includes only selected reports of findings that the Privacy Commissioner has published in the annual report and felt it was in the public interest to make public.

The complainants' names have been removed. However, the government institutions have been identified.

The findings demonstrate how the Privacy Act applies to the way the Federal Government collects, uses or discloses your personal information.
